Hongguan
Galvanized Steel Flat Bar, a type of A36 hot rolled low carbon steel bar, is hot dipped with a zinc rich finish. Galvanized flat steel is a low-cost alternative to stainless steel, allowing for up to 30 years of rust-free protection while maintaining considerable strength and a durable hard surface coating. Metal Warehouse stocks many sizes in pre-cut lengths and full mill lengths, or we can hot dip virtually any size and quantity required for your welding or construction project.
Galvanized flats can be cut, machined or welded using methods commonly used for ordinary steel, but should be adequately ventilated to avoid fume inhalation during heating. The sawn ends of our pre-cut lengths are not galvanized and should be treated with a cold galvanizing compound to maintain protection after your project is complete. Any drilled or welded areas should also be treated.
