ASTM A515 Gr 70 plates have the advantages of wear resistance, high strength, strong structure, corrosion resistance, robust design and excellent quality. These plates can receive surface finishes such as chevron, brush, sandblasted and embossed, 2B, BA, 8K, No. 1, etc. It is commonly available in hot rolled post-treatment.
A515 Grade 70 carbon steel plate is suitable for the manufacture of high strength steel plates used in medium to high temperature pressure vessels. Its cutting properties are good and similar to those of ordinary carbon steel.
Low temperature carbon steel 70 steel plate can be easily formed by conventional methods. It is essentially a carbon steel and is not resistant to corrosion. Unless protected, it will rust. It can be easily bent or cold formed as is typical of plain carbon steel.
