Aluminum 2024 flat bar is one of the most widely used alloys in the world and has many applications. The flat bar is easy to machine because it has an excellent ability to be transformed into a variety of sizes and shapes with the proper weight ratio. Another reason is its overall fatigue resistance. The alloy is also known for use in a variety of applications, including aerospace parts and customer products. 2024 alloy has the highest machinability and it can be easily polished with A2 finishing.
Aluminum 2024 can be heat treated in the annealed condition, and it provides hard corrosion resistance to prevent cracking due to stress corrosion. 2024 aluminum bars also exhibit good corrosion resistance. However, coatings can only be used to improve the corrosion resistance of 2024 aluminum.
