Hongguan
347H is another stainless steel that belongs to the class of precipitation hardening steels labeled metal. It has many of the same properties and characteristics as stainless steel 347. In addition to its higher carbon content, the alloy is stabilized with the addition of niobium, or sometimes tantalum. These two properties allow 347H to be exposed to higher temperatures than 347 and 304 stainless steel grades can withstand. Because of its higher resistance to corrosion, 347H is often used in high stress, high corrosion environments where exposure is often severe. High temperature fabrication, steam tubing, boiler tubing, chemical processes and steam service all benefit from the resilience of 347H. This resilience is in turn due to the potentially high chromium content of 347H's composition. This metal can contain anywhere from 4-30%.
This metal shows high machinability with most common welding techniques. It can be heated and processed, however, it will not react. Only cold working is sufficient to improve the toughness and strength of 347H.
