Hongguan
310H is the preferred metal for high temperature conditions in the 310 stainless steel grades. It can be used in the heat treatment industry, including the control of concentrated acids. 310H is often exposed to sulfur dioxide and shows high levels of resistance to negative effects, as well as those of oxidation at high temperatures. This metal also shows increased resistance to creep corrosion.
While 310S is a low carbon version of the 310 grade, 310H is a high carbon modification of this metal and, as previously mentioned, is specifically designed for better creep resistance. It exceeds the corrosion resistance of many other stainless steel alloys in high temperature environments. However, it does not show the same resistance to water corrosion. Its high carbon content is a limitation in wet environments.
Although this metal can be easily welded and is relatively ductile, care should be taken when cold working. Prolonged exposure to cold working can lead to carbon precipitation.
