Stainless steel 310 H-steel is used in gas turbines, rocket engines, nuclear reactors, pressure vessels, tooling and aircraft structures. Stainless steel 310 I-beams are capable of being used in extreme temperatures up to or over 2200 degrees Fahrenheit (1200 degrees Celsius).

H-beam - H-beam is stronger than I-beam, but it requires more effort to produce. instead of being rolled together as one part, H-beam is made from three separate pieces and welded together. This makes each part stronger because you are using the milling equipment three times to reinforce the material, rather than using the equipment one at a time to fabricate an item. Overall, H-beams are much heavier than I-beams and can withstand more force and stress.
I-beam - is the most common beam in our inventory. I-beams have a center web that can only be rolled as far as the rolling mill equipment can handle (5/8"). I-beams are lighter in weight, which is why they are used so often. The I-beam is also a complete piece of metal. It is rolled from a single part. It can be hot rolled or laser fused.
