309s corresponds to the Chinese brand 0 cr23ni13, American Standard S30908 (American AISI, ASTM). Corrosion resistance, heat resistance are better than 0 cr19ni9. 309s is a stainless steel containing sulfur without cutting.
It is a variant of 309 stainless steel with lower carbon content. It is used in applications. The low carbon content allows for minimal carbide precipitation in the weld near the heat affected zone, which can lead to intergranular corrosion (weld erosion) where the stainless steel precipitates carbide in certain environments.
