Hongguan
Stainless steel 304L pipe is composed of a low carbon version of the world's most used 18-8 austenitic stainless steel material. The lower carbon content allows for excessive welding without localized corrosion. This is because stainless steel 304L pipe produces less carbide precipitation during the welding process and does not form much intergranular corrosion. There are seamless and welded pipe types. Welded pipe is made by welding strips of the same grade end-to-end or spiral style.
Stainless steel 304L seamless pipe is drawn from a single billet of material. As a result, the drawn seamless pipe is smoother. The material has a minimum yield strength of 205 MPa and a minimum tensile strength of 515 MPa. This helps the pipe to hold up in pressure and high-pressure applications. However, the corrosion resistance of the material is low. Stainless steel 304L welded pipe has a high operating temperature, so it can be used in high temperature service. The operating temperature can be up to 870 degrees Celsius.
