Stainless Steel Hexagonal Bar 304/304L is a hexagonal shaped 304/304L stainless steel alloy bar.
304/304L stainless steel alloy has excellent mechanical properties and is resistant to many corrosives.
It is useful where sanitation and cleanliness are important. It is non-magnetic in the annealed state. Hardness and tensile strength can be improved by cold working, but are altered by reducing the carbon content to provide good corrosion resistance in welded structures where subsequent heat treatment is not practical.
Grade 304L (L = low carbon) is identical to 304 except that it has an ultra-low carbon analysis, the advantage of which is that it precludes any harmful precipitation in the 800ºF to 1500ºF range, such as may occur in heavier parts of the weld.
