Both 304 and 304L stainless steel coils can be used for many of the same applications, and in many ways, they are not very different. They both offer excellent strength and durability and are easy to cut, bend and deform. The biggest difference between 304 and 304L is the difference in mechanical properties due to the difference in carbon content. In addition, 304L stainless steel coils can reduce/eliminate carbide precipitation during the welding process, even in severely corrosive environments.
