Super Duplex Stainless Steel 2507 is designed for applications requiring exceptional strength and corrosion resistance. The high molybdenum, chromium and nitrogen content in Super Duplex 2507 gives it superior resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion, and the duplex structure gives Super Duplex 2507 superior resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking. The use of Super Duplex 2507 should be limited to applications below 600°F (316°C). Prolonged exposure to high temperatures will reduce the toughness and corrosion resistance of alloy 2507.
